Main features
- See content of a video file without open it (if you create previews). You'll can check hundreds of files just rolling mouse wheel.
- First time Progetto Video Manager has been launched generate two sqlite databases (files/buttons and performers), every db will be constantly updated adding or deleting new files in selected folders or creating manually new artist/performer profiles.
- (When software is started) a virtual watchdog detects changes in folders selected by user (new, deleted, renamed, moved pictures/video)
- Identification of duplicate files (they're moved in "Double" folder)
- When a new file video is found, PVM will try to:
- clean file name (internally, without renaming) removing/replacing some characters.
- tokenize japanese strings to allow japanese performers search [in local DB]. (For example: 私の名前はニコラです -----> 私 | の | 名前 | は | ニコラ | です )
- determinate if a file belongs to a TV series (searching for patterns like "1x01" or "S1E01").
- if a file contains a "-", this symbol will be used like a filename splitter to generate text strings in which search for movie/series titles, if a file duration is enough long ( > 3600 seconds) will try to determinate: movie/episode cast, movie/series cover, backdrop, original title, spoken languages, production countries, genres, release date, runtime, director, screenplay, director of photography, music composer, overview.
- extract file technical specifications: filesize, video quality, audio/video codecs, bitrate and other things.
- (if autoPreview in progetto.ini is set to true) create video preview: a animated GIF (1 frame per minute) that will be start to play when mouse is hovered over.
- create a snapshot per minute from which start the video. Using VLC you can also capture (commentable) snapshots to load a video from a wanted frame, it's a kind of bookmark.
- (if movie/series isn't found or file is a picture) search for performers in filename using TMDb and local performer db.
- For every artist found will be saved a profile containing: related multimedia files (found in selected folders), name, aliases, birthplace (a button will display it in Google maps), birthday, biography from which PVM will try to get some other personal data (height, weight.. ).
- You can create, customize, add to favorites, hide or delete performer profile. When you click over a profile button, performer name is copied automatically in clipboard.
- You can create search buttons to performer custom queries in (almost) all web search engines/sites or other networks like eDonkey. There are already 4 buttons to search for big images of a performer in Google Images, close up images in Bing, video interviews in Youtube and information in english Wikipedia. Using "---" separator you can build a button that open multiple sites clicking once.
- You can perform searches in your local databases about performers and files (video/pictures) and sorting results by various parameters (even randomly).
